Christmas with PYT

By Uncategorized

We are absolutely over the moon that our Christmas Production of Let it Snow! is going ahead – yesterday our cast had a full day of rehearsals and can’t wait to share this joyful spectacle of everything Christmas!  There are still tickets available – details of performances below.

We have taken many steps to mitigate the risks of Covid 19. We had planned an interval of 30 minutes for you all to sing carols with us whilst enjoying refreshments. There will still be an interval – but as we are unable to serve refreshments, you are welcome to bring your own. We will be encouraging you to leave the auditorium and enjoy some fresh air outside in our beautifully decorated entrance.

The theatre is being well ventilated, so a little cooler than normal. Please wrap up warm and feel free to bring a blanket if you feel the cold.

The cast have been taking daily Lateral Flow Tests and we would be heart-warmed if you would also consider taking a Lateral Flow Test before you leave home. Following government guidelines, you will be required to wear a face covering in the auditorium.

If you would like a programme – please bring £2 cash.

Each Christmas we choose to support a local charity. This year we are supporting Petersfield Dementia Choir with a bucket collection at the end of each performance. We would welcome your loose change.

We look forward to seeing you.

Let it Snow! features both Christmas favourites and songs from festive shows, PYT will be injecting their hallmark energy into this special performance of musical theatre.

A live band, Christmas Trees, and all things that sparkle will support our cast of 100 in the beautiful surroundings of an especially transformed Quad at Bedales School. Our younger members will be joined on stage by their more experienced teenage counterparts in what promises to be a wonderful festive treat.

Let it Snow! is perfect for all the family, so why not get your Christmas off to a musical start and come and experience our hospitality and musical delights.

With special thanks for Bedales for being our hosts.  And we would like to thank our friends at Wylds Farm Christmas Trees for sponsoring this production.

Who knows, it may even snow!

Weekly Winners

By Uncategorized

Would you like to help a local charity and have a chance of winning a jackpot of your own?

Why not join Weekly Winners – PYT’s major fundraising scheme to raise funds for the PYT Bursary.

We are hoping that one high profile fundraising scheme will be more beneficial than an endless stream of different smaller events. By paying via Standing Order there’s no fuss involved and you get the satisfaction of helping a local charity without really having to do very much. Unlike national schemes, there’s also a much higher chance of you winning something!

The funds raised will be for the PYT Bursary which is designed to assist members who may not otherwise be able to participate in PYT activities due to financial barriers. These bursaries will cover up to 100% of the fee for these activities and each application will be carefully assessed on a case by case basis. In order to apply for the Bursary members need to request an application pack as detailed on our ‘Join Us’ page.

Without Weekly Winners subscribers we would be unable to offer this support. If there is any surplus income it will be used towards our creative programme which will benefit all PYT members.

Please click on the button below to learn more about how it works and how to apply.

Honk!

By Uncategorized

Since it first hatched in 1993, Honk! – a charming twist on Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Ugly Ducking’ – has winged its way around the world in over 8,000 productions.

Seen by over 6 million people, Honk! has won multiple awards including the 2000 Olivier Award for Best Musical, beating The Lion King and Mama Mia!

“Imagine the colour and wit of Disney’s Jungle Book, mixed with the vivacity of ‘40’s Hollywood musicals, exuberantly staged, and you still only have some idea of how stonkingly brilliant this treat is…”                                                                                                     (Review of National Theatre Production)

If you buy tickets for the opening performance on Tuesday 19 September, we invite you to a complimentary reception in the Rose Room at the Festival Hall after the performance.  With special thanks to MacDonald Oates for sponsoring this event.
